this is a great toy, durable and all but what's the difference between this and the regualr kong? I'd just get the regular kong...does the same thing

the difference between the black kong and the red kong is strength and durability. my bulldogs can rip a red kong in half in a matter of minutes. they have yet to be able to destroy a black kong. i have had the same black kong for five years....it has survived 4 dogs all through puppyhood into adulthood.
Red "regular" Kongs are not as durable. The size and color should depend upon your dog's size and how vigorous a chewer he or she is - black is more durable for stronger chewers. Peanut butter is great for dogs without peanut allergies. So is plain yoogurt. Freezing helps the project last longer, is good in hot weather.
