If you allow your dog to have head out of window in the car (which you really shouldn't do), or if he goes in the boat with you these are something that they should wear to protect their eyes from the wind, bugs and debris.
Here in Worcester MA we have a Bull Mastif who rides in a side car on a Harley with his Master. He wears the seat restraint, a helmet and his goggles. It is one of the funniest sites you will ever see. I see him every once in a while going into Petco.
