I haven't used Boric acid to get rid of fleas- but I will try it next year if we have a problem. I have used it outside for other pests though.
For birdseed and my fish food (for the pond) I sprinkle some boric acid around the containers. It keeps roaches, ants and other critters from coming around.
When we had an ant problem I sprinkled some along the path they were taking and around the outside of the house- within a day or two problem was solved.
