Hot/ Cold packs worked very well for me when I had shoulder surgery - I would get both applied every day at therapy for 8 weeks - so why not use them on your pet.
The thing about the Bella pack system is that it does come with strapping so that you can apply the packs to the joint and know they will stay there if your dog is in its probe position. I have seen them used fairly often and I am impressed with the option. The pack is warmed in the microwave to a comfortable NOT HOT temp , or cooled in the freezer. The warm packs dilate that veins so that the blood flows more easily to the affected area. The cold obviously constricting the same way. Speak with your vet about warm/cold therapy for your pet and Bellas packs are a great way to go.
