Yes, Sentinel costs a little bit more than other heartworm preventatives, but when I asked my vet about those other preventatives, he explained that Sentinel was well worth the price. It's the only heartworm preventative he trusts, PLUS it also helps prevent fleas and other common parasites. That was enough for me. I've never even thought about using anything else again.
