When my dogs were puppies they really enjoyed gnawing on cabinet corners, throw rugs, chair legs, and etc... A few sprays of the sour/bitter apple spray kept them away from all of these things. After a while the spray wears off, but it's easy to re-spray the area.
You could almost see the sour faces they had when they tasted the spray.
It also doesn't smell bad and is definitely safe to use around animals and people.
