Here is another old tip & trick from my vet - of course with any of these you want to check with your own vet for their opinion too!!
When we would get a call at the vets office that a pup / dog had eaten "something" sock, cat toy, whatever - and the client was concerned that could cause a blockage the very first thing my Vet would do would be to advise putting a BIG slab of butter on a piece of bread and feeding that immediately to the pup. Grease the wheels so to speak and get and keep things moving along smoothly :)

I just felt I had to add this comment as it seems that no one reads the other reviews when posting their own - that's unfortunate as I love to read what other people have to say about a product -
Boy, you guys are tough :) If you notice this is under health care not pet care and the reason it is there is that it is used prophylactically to prevent intestinal obstruction when a pet has eaten something ( own a lab - eat a sock!) that it shouldn't. Yes, I wrote the first review and yes it was something that the Vet I worked for offered for advice to people - and yes, it did work :) Just an old fashioned home remedy - not meant as butter as an addition to a diet........ I'm sorry if anyone came to that conclusion....
