Many of us use Natural Balance as a reward in dog classes. You can buy the turkey, lamb or beef rolls in 1 pound, 2.4 pound and 4 pound sizes. We cut the roll into slices and either cut the slices into smaller pieces before class or break off pieces during class. Dogs love it and work eagerly to get some. The only problem is the crumbs that sometimes fall on the floor or field can distract some dogs.
The Natural Balance rolls have a fairly long shelf life (but check the expiration date before buying). After being opened, it needs to be refrigerated. It can also be frozen for extended storage, but you probably want to cut it into slices before freezing it if you're going to use it as training treats.
