Review Details

It is best to keep it simple, especially if your pet is sensitive to some things. Giving food and keeping it to a few basic ingredients sometimes is best, especially if the dog is coming to you as an adopted dog with some intestinal problems. I found the foods having the least combinations of things were better and enabled better digestion for the dog. This food is a good food but like I said, I stuck with the theory simple is best. Lamb and rice, chicken and rice, no by products.....etc.

If you want a good dogfood (and who doesn't?!!), definitely make sure the first ingredient is like: Chicken meal, Beef meal, Fish meal, Turkey meal. Not soy though, and not corn gluten. And not Whole kernel corn. Make sure when you add up the percentages and then subtract from 100%, the difference is 52% or less. It equals the carbohydrate amount. Beet pulp makes food swell in the intestines 10 times its size and is a cheap ingredient, so no beet pulp. Honest: no cheap ingredients in the dog food and no slaughterhouseness, and you'll be sure you're doing at least okay. For dogs that are afraid of vaccums and thunderstorms, find one that's non-acidic. Nutro Ultra is definitely acidic. That's almost all it takes.

Sincerely,
Anna
