We have a few of these dog houses at our shelter in our outside yards for shelter while dogs are out. These are very heavy duty and will keep dogs warm and cool as needed. They do occasionally break off the base as they just use a bar like snap to hold to that base. Dogs cannot climb on top either. They can cost a little more but really do stand up to wear and tear and the weather.
