Review Details
I was involved in a large hunting dog rescue. I took 18 of them in and the other 100 were split up amongst friends of mine. I was living near the wet lands in Nc at the time...LOTS OF SKEETERS! Just about all of the dogs had heartworms. Well, who can afford to treat almost a hundred dogs for heartworms. well, ivermectin is the main ingredient in heartguard. I talked to a vet and if given by mouth. I mean a very small (like less then 0.5ml) can be effective in treating HW. The vet I spoke to about this did not recommend it but knew I was at a loss with all the infected dogs.****Please do not attempt to use before consulting a vet***** This is a poison and can kill dogs.
