This does work well BUT I wouldn't use it in small rooms. I used it in the bathroom since I had just bathed the dog. I removed the toothbrushes and stuff first of course. ANyway, it left some residue on the floor so be careful of that. It does dry or you can wipe it up. It's just alot of fragrance for such a small room I think, of course once I opened the door I could let it disburse and after awhile it wasn't so bad. I also would have liked a different fragrance since I don't like vanilla
