A matter of preference
Pros: Longer length gives your dog freedom

I liked the longer length of this nylon leash and used it for my schnauzers so they could have more freedom than they had on a short leash. But when I discovered the retractable leashes, I preferred them to the 15-foot nylon leashes. Might just be a matter of preference.
