Pros: Works on energetic dogs
Cons: Dogs may not like the feel of a head halter
It took my belgian shepherd some time to get used to having a head halter on and even after she was used to it, she never really grew to like it. It took me forever to fit it correctly. Now I only use it in very stressful situations where I will need extra control and have instead decided to continue to train her on other cues without the gentle leader so that she will learn to perform under stress without it on. Some dogs seem to get used to it, and the idea behind the product is good, but I would rather use the easy walk harness if possible.
