Too many mishaps with this one. . . the button releases sometimes and has caused some near misses and actual injuries to finger. I think it's better to be able to control dog with a regular nylon leash. I know some people like these, but once you've had all of your skin ripped off your finger from one, or the safety button pops out when you pass by another dog, you wont like it any more!

I think it depends on which style of flexi lead you buy. I have an older model that works great with my 55 lb active dogs. But, the newer one that we bought (even though it is in the same weight ranges as the older model) does seem to hang up when retracting, just as you said.
