These are durable and strong. I prefer the metal over the plastic for just that reason. I had my dogs name out on it and our phone number in case she would get lost. I would recommend checking the fit frequently. My dog tends to lose and gain weight weight depending on the season so I usually have to adjust it about every 3 months for the right fit.
