Our vet prescribed this food for our older dog who is loosing weight. She said it is a high calorie puppy grade food - good for putting weight back on. She also mentioned it was a rice based food so it would be easy on the stomach and help with firming up stools, our pooch has some soft stools. It is a very thick stick to the spoon food and you can see the rice in the food, it looks to be a very good quality food. Our dog seems to eat it ok but some days I think it is not too appetizing to her. I suppose with time she will get used to the change of food, it probably doesn't taste as good as the gravey and chunks she was eating before! Over all 4 stars.
