This is an "odd" trick that actually works.
When puppies are left for whatever circumstance without a mom and they are being bottle fed....to quiet the whimpers and give them a sense of security, wrap an old fashioned alarm clock (the kind that ticks) in a towel and put in the box (area)with them. It is comforting.
