Review Details
One of our large dogs really loves this and has never been harmed by it, but some of these have broken in half at times, and small chips can always be broken or bitten off, and sharp pieces of bone like this can be dangerous when swallowed, so I never leave the bone around for long. We once had to take one of our smaller dogs to the vet. emergently because a chip of bone got stuck over an upper tooth, causing the dog to panic and frantically try to remove the bone himself. We thought the dog was choking from bone lodged in his throat, but luckily that wasn't the case. We still had to have the dog mildly sedated to remove the bone. That was one long day, and not one we want to repeat. Needless to say, we don't do too much with bones anymore.
