We had a 16 year old, arthritic dog and we bought her an electric heated dog bed, which was fine during the day when I was up with her, but I didn't like to use it at night when I wasn't up. So for that reason, I really prefer the Snuggle Safe at night but the heat doesn't last all night. That's the downside.
