The Lehigh German Shepherd Dog Club Inc. is a nonprofit corporation established in 1965 for the following purpose:

>> To encourage and promote the breeding of pure-bred German Shepherd Dogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.

>> To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which German Shepherd Dogs shall be judged.

>> To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows.

>> To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows under the rules of The American Kennel Club.

>>The club has several general membership meetings during the calendar year with guest speakers covering a wide range of subjects with such topics as training, obedience, agility, show, health and proper care of German Shepherds.

>>Beginner and advanced obedience classes are sponsored by the club. Classes are held weekly for eight weeks and are one hour in length. These classes are open to ALL BREEDS.

>>Picnics are a popular event with members and their guests. Dogs are extra special guests at these events which are held in the summer and fall.
Dogs, members and guests are also invited to a Christmas party which is held in December of each year.

>>The club sponsors two shows during each calendar year. The spring show is
a specialty point show for German Shepherds and the show held in the winter is a designated specialty show in conjunction with an all breed club.

>>Regular membership is open to all persons eighteen years of age and older who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the Lehigh German Shepherd Dog Club Inc.

A junior membership is open to all persons between the ages of fourteen and eighteen who are in good standing with The American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the Lehigh German Shepherd Dog Club Inc.

The club, with the aid of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, endeavors to educate the general populous about the many capabilities of the German Shepherd. In addition, the club has projects to promote responsible pet ownership.

Friendly Folks and Fidos Too!

posted 6 years ago

I've been a member of Lehigh German Shepherd Dog Club for 7 years now..
The club consists of a Friendly, Hardworking, Knowledgable Group of Folks who Love their dogs.. and The German Shepherd Breed.
They are always willing to help newcomers..
They don't care if you have the Number One rated GSD in the country..or.. if you just adopted a scruffy GSD from the local shelter..
They will welcome You andYour Dog and offer you their knowledgend assistance in any way possible.
Club events, especially our public eduacation outtings are always enjoyable.
As long as your GSD is well socialized and well groomed, you and he are encouraged to come spread the word about the wonders of the breed.
Our Busy Season is just about to start.. so contact Linda for a New Member Application, and become one of the Friendly Folks of the LGSDC.
I cant wait to meet You and Your GSD!
Lorrie, Riley and Kolby

Pros: Great group of People and Dogs.

Cons: I have to drive a distance.. but its worth it
