No Warm & Fuzzy Feeling

I took my female golden retriever there once. The staff in the morning wasn't unfriendly, just too busy to really talk with me about what I could expect for the day, at 9:30am. When I picked her up, about 6:30pm the woman who checked me out was not friendly at all. She didn't know anything about how my dog did her first day, and didn't seem to care either. I am used to taking my dog to PetsMart Day Camp once or twice a week, where the staff is always friendly and happy to have my dog. My dog is a typical golden; happy, moderately trained and ready to please. I like the fact that my dog gets outside time there (as opposed to PetSmart), but I don't believe my dog really cares about outside verses inside, she just loves to be with other dogs. So really, for me, it comes down to the staff and my comfort level. I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling leaving my dog there. I didn't really feel like they cared whether my dog was there or not. Too bad, because it's more convenient for me. I would have split the week between them ($20/day) and PetSmart ($18/day). And would have considered them for the 2 week stay my dog just got back from at PetSmart.

Also, I inquired at Christmas about boarding. I was told that the kennels were full, but I could bring her crate to keep her in. I would have been OK with that, but it was the same price as if she were in a 4x6 kennel, which didn't set well with me. The woman I talked to sounded a lot like the woman who checked me out from day care. I got the feeling from her (again) they didn't really want or need my business.
