Chipper and Cleo Charm Kids in South San Francisco

August 17, 2008 | By Arden M. | Category: Travel

Sometimes the best happens without a lot of planning or fretting. That was the case when I contacted Bonny White, a pet-loving librarian at the Grand Avenue Branch Library in South San Francisco two days before I arrived in that area as part of my national book tour. She quickly sent word out of my arrival. I brought Chipper and Cleo into the library that was filled with children and special dignitaries, including the mayor of South San Francisco! Chipper and Cleo demonstrated their cool tricks as we “edu-tained” the kids on doggie manners and safety tips. The kids quickly learned “doggy ABCs” in properly meeting a dog and won prizes, including signed copies of my books for demonstrating their new-found knowledge about cats and dogs. Special thanks to Bonny White and Pam Waldrep from this library for making this tour stop possible. The historic library is a must-stop if you are in the South San Francisco area.
