I have brought home about 2 or 3 cat scratchers in the past. (The one where they can sleep inside), the other kind with the post and carpet, and another post with more of a twine-like substance. My cat used none - she still chose my furniture and my new carpeting (not new anymore). Anyways, my friend had this and swore by this. I had couipon of $20 off on a $100 purchase or more, so I thought I'd give it a try ($15.00). I came home. At first I was a bit disappointed since she just seemed to use it to rub against. A minute later, she started tearing into the carboard (which is a bit noisy). It's made of cardboard and not the prettiest cat scratcher you'll have, but it's one that will be used.
