Great way to keep cats busy, but wouldn't pay for more cardboard

Pros: my cats love the ball and scratching on the cardboard

Cons: cardboard center that wears out the manufacturer expects you to pay for a replacement

My cats love chasing the ball, but the cardboard center wore out quickly. I cut some regular cardboard to fill the hole and sprinkled catnip on it. My cats love the new cardboard and still play with the ball.

My cats ignored the cardboard center for a while, but then really got into it. A little catnip helped attract them. But then it was all torn up and I didn't really want to have to continue to replace the center. Also the shredded bits of cardboard were a bit annoying.
