Review Details

Sticky Paws is nothing more than a jumbo-sized piece of double-sided tape. You can try it ahead of time by putting several rows of double-sided tape on your furniture and seeing if the cats then dislike clawing that spot.

My cats don't like to walk on or touch the sticky stuff, so to that extent, it works. It does not harm the animals; they just have an "Eeew!" reaction.

The problem is that Sticky Paws strips, as big as they are, simply seem to invite my cats to scoot over six inches and claw the next spot. I've added more and more strips of Sticky Paws and maybe eventually the kitties will give up. However it's much more common that humans give up before cats, in pretty much any situation. As always, my money is on the cat.

If you use Sticky Paws, note that following the directions is important for a successful application. If you bungle it the strips will just stick to themselves. Also, the strips attract cat hair like crazy, so pretty soon you will just have a furry strip on your sofa, and have to take it off and replace it. TEST Sticky Paws (or the aforementioned roll of double-sided tape) in an inconspicuous area first. Tape doesn't agree with all upholstery!
