Alternative (to clay) still has drawbacks

Pros: Clumps, natural, better for environment than clay, biodegradeable, compostable.
Cons: Still gets dusty, easily tracked out of box, gets smelly at times.
This is one of several types of alternative litters that I tried. I liked it better than the litter that came in pellets, which seemed to rub raw spots on back of my cats rear legs. Cats are supposed to prefer litter that is same consistency as sand, so this litter has that in its favor. But, in the end, it was too dusty for me and I didn't like the smell of the urine clumps.
