I have never used as a cat litter, but we have used this for bedding for our mice/guinea pigs ect ect.

This stuff is a little weird. It's not really litter. Maybe it works well for some cats, but I think most cats don't even really see it as litter.

Cats much prefer litter made with smaller material. I think the pellets feel uncomfortable on their feet.
