Cons: Not Sure Of Cost (Received Free Sample); Product Of Thailand
I think the "Appetizers" are an interesting addition to catfood! The "Appetizers" are SUPPLEMENTS, not meant for "dinner". Cats--like people--enjoy "snacks" between meals. Fancy Feast offers something for cats to eat between meals.
I received the "White Meat Chicken Appetizer" as a sample and its 2-ounce size (full-size?) wasn't going to be sufficient to be able to offer some to all six of my cats. So, I offered some to Zac first (since he was around), but he showed NO interest in it! Chetzer eventually came along and did eat some, but not all of the 1/2 tub that I put out. I expected both to be raving over this, but that wasn't the case. Chetzer came back later and finished most of his portion but, again, he wasn't that eager. Both usually LOVE chicken Fancy Feast catfood, so the result was disappointing.
Fuzzy got to the second 1/2 of the sample and he seemed to really LIKE it. So, two out of three "ain't bad", but I expected better results for the taste test.
This "appetizer" apparently is comprised of "water, chicken, guar gum, xanthan gum, and sodium nitrate (to maintain color)"--better than the lenghy list of ingredients found in a vast majority of cat foods/treats.
One concern I have is that overweight cats may become even more obese if given "Appetizers" in addition to their regular food. If the "Appetizers" are only given occasionally, they will serve their purpose.
I look forward to giving my cats a taste-test of the seven other flavors (once I find them in a store), but hope they like them more than this Chicken Appetizer.
