Purina makes Friskies and I like the fact that they were not implicated in the 2007 food recall. Nestlé is the parent company.
If you investigate closely, two other big names (9 Lives and Meow Mix) are made by Del Monte.
These gigantic corporations are probably saving us money and they do provide a basic level of good trustworthy food. My cats dearly love their Purina/Friskies products especially but I plan to try to promote use of food made by smaller companies and even local companies if I can find them.
In the meantime, Friskies offers a wide variety of flavorful taste treats.
