I bought this gate to keep my dogs out of the room that we keep the cat boxes and food in. There is a small door on the bottom that you can either leave open or closed. It worked well keeping the bog dogs out but my cockers slipped right thru. So we had to close the cat door and actually cut one of the bars off so that only the cats could get thru. Now i love the gate. I actually purchased 2 more from the smame company. We also have one at the HSOC.
