None of our cats came to us as young kittens - they were all abandoned at various stages of adulthood. I think brushing cats' teeth should be started when they are young so they become accustommed to the process of brushing. It just doesn't come natural too them. I was successful in feeding some of the paste to one of our cats but that cannot be very effective at fighting plaque.
