Cats 1st Choice

After my cat Jack got urinary crystals, my vet wanted to put him on Hills Science Diet S/D to make sure they didn't come back. I know that this food is basically crap, with chemicals added for certain ailments. After doing my research I now understand that cats in general have no thirst desire like dogs and humans, and get most of their fluids through their food. Canned foods are as close to the 70% moisture a cat would get by eating caught prey. It was hard to find canned cat foods that they would eat more than once. Merrick Thanksgiving Dinner is their hands-down favorite. They get this probably 5-6 days per week now. I will say the last batch I bought was slightly different in consistency and the cats were not as thrilled with it. Hopefully that was just a single batch and not a reformulation of the recipe. My dogs also loved almost every flavor of Merrick canned dog foods. I think the quality of their products is very high and would highly recommend this food.
