I love all of James Herriott's books. His stories are perfect for all ages. He describes some of his patients, human and animal, from his years as a Yorkshire veterinarian. These stories will make you laugh and cry. Just a wonderful book!

I always go back and reread his stories every couple of years. He was a treasure and I wish he was still alive and writing.
His children books are wonderful, too.I would buy them with every intent on keeping them in my classroom library and letting my students read them. I always loved them so much, I was just too stingy to do it.
