Review Details
When I think of reading this book after I lost one of my first miniature schnauzers, it still makes me cry today when I think of the small boy who literally grew up with his dog Elfie and how he dealt with her death when she became old and didn't wake up one morning. I remember the part so vividly when he buried his dog and vowed that he would always tell every pet he owned that he would always love it. As I said good-bye to my last two schnauzers, Miss Daisy and Cricket, I whispered those words in their ear "I'll Always Love You" and told them what great dogs they were. Now I'm crying again.
