Comforting yet sad to read after the loss of your dog
Pros: Helps you believe that your dog is in a better place
Cons: Makes you cry to read many of the passages

I read this book through tears and smiles after losing one of my beloved schnauzers. The author starts off by saying "when dogs go to heaven they don't need wings, because God knows they like running the best" and continues on with many descriptions of what it is like for your dog in heaven. Two passages still make me cry when I remember them. One was about your dog coming back to check on her family and make sure they were o.k., and the other was about even the stray dogs having wonderful homes filled with love. Even though it written as a child's book, there are many words of wisdom for anyone who has lost a dog they love dearly.
