Review Details

It is almost impossible to get a bird into one of these. I was so excited when I bought it because I would finally be able to take my tiel outside, but I could not get it on him no matter what I tried. After squawking and screaming and nips I gave up. Costing 24 bucks or more makes me wish I hadn't gotten it. If you get your bird into this you are a magician!

I'm sorry you had such a problem. Try this for getting your friend "suited up." Start with birdie's back facing you. (Note: I'm right-handed -- it may matter.) Using the thumb of your left hand, hold the right-side velcro strip to birdie's back, put elastic over right wing. Roll bird to the left, so he's now upside-down. Place elastic over other wing; roll birdie again so he's now rightside up. Attach second velcro strip to first.

Now, still rolling to the left, release his wing, then each foot, then second wing. He'll end up rightside up again.

I've found this rolling system keeps birdie under control without jerking, pulling, etc. And putting suit on, then releasing wings and feet, is faster and easier than trying to get it all done on the first try.

As for the diapers not working, look at the directions to see if you have the size that needs to be halved or quartered before inserting into the suit.

Good luck because it's really neat to go bike-riding with your feathered sweetie. Totally flamboozalizing the neighbors as you pass is only one of the pluses!
