Review Details
Due to the cost of this cage (which was the one we really wanted), our family first went with a different cage from a different company. Skip that step! We had many problems with the first (non-Chiquita) cage ordered (dirty, broken, smelly, wrong color, many nicks, rough metal "drips," etc.), sent it back, and ordered the Chiquita by Avian Adventures. The Chiquita went together like a dream, and it didn't have any of the flaws mentioned above. The only way to avoid powder coat flaws is to get stainless steel, but a cage of that quality is much pricier--and the Chiquita we got only had one obvious area with a powder coat flaw.
This cage also has unique features the first one by "another company" did not have. I especially like that the grill (which is something else that needs to be cleaned) doesn't need to be used, and the cage easily adapts to be used without it. The shelf underneath is also a wonderful feature to hold all your bird's necessities. And for scared birds who don't like "solid" above their heads, this cage comes in two different styles--my scaredy-bird has the dometop one so she can see out from the top.
For the price, this seems to be the best cage of this size that you can get. My Senegal looks dwarfed inside of it, but I like how Avian Adventures (now owned by Midwest) is concerned about horizontal space, which most companies don't realize is really more important than vertical.
