Fun historical fantasy for ages 9-12

Gareth, a cat capable of talking and time traveling when he wants to, and his human friend Jason, set off on a series of cat-based adventures around the globe at different points in the past. In each time period they go to, it relates in a way to a period of history relating to cats. For example: how the Manx cat got its name, how cats were worshiped in ancient Egypt, how cats were connected with the devil during the Middle Ages, etc. They get involved with adventures in each time period.

The "history" is not always accurate, but it is a fantasy story, after all.
