Fort Funston Dog Beach

We visited this beach and the dogs had so much fun running in the sand and romping in the water. They loved the freedom and the ocean. We played fetch and the dogs had the time of their lives running in and out of the water. The people were very friendly. It wasn't that busy, but we were there around Christmas time in December.

I believe the city is trying to regulate the leash law here now, but the dog owners have formed a group to fight the leash laws. Their website states that they are still walking and running their dogs off leash while they fight to keep it an off leash beach.
