I really like Syrian hamsters. I've never had a hamster before. I read something that said I ould need cage that was 24 by 12, but, I can't afford a cage that size. I'm only 15. Does the cage really need to be that big??

I have one fairly dominant 2 year old male cat. I'd like to get another male, but someone told me that it's hard to introduce a new male into a household where there is already a male. What is your experience?
