I heard on the news this morning about a Florida couple who cloned their beloved yellow Lab. It cost them $155,000.00.
So,my question is would you clone your favorite pet?
The second part is how much would you be willing to spend?

yes I would but I would not pay a lot of money to do so. Especially when creating a clone doesnt guarantee the animal will act the same.

I don't think I would clone my pet, because no matter what no other dog, not even one who looked just like him could ever replace him. I think would rather adopt and help provide a better home for another dog that maybe otherwise wouldn't get one.

The people who cloned their pet did it unwisely. The pet that died had cancer....doesn't seem like a good decision to clone it

I have mixed feelings on this. In terms of cost, no amount of money in the world is too much for my babies (dogs). If cloning would give you the same personality back, then it might be worth considering, but I haven't heard that that's the case. And there are so many dogs out there who need homes...

No, I wouldn't clone a pet. I have loved each of them for their individual characteristics.

I would not. Roxy would be the same on the outside, but not on the inside. I would rather have her live for a LOONNG time in great health, or donate the money to a shelter and get a shelter pet. My dad's dog passed, and he thought he was a great dog. He went to a shelter "to look" and adopted a dog who had been in the shelter for over a year. Lucky has not taken jackson place, but there is a new place for lucky in my dad's heart. Plus, he stays in the yard better!!

Kind of wish I had because my girlfriend's dog was just the best dog ever. He loved kids, loved to play and miss him dearly, but he was left on a doorstep so I would never want that happening to one of his offspring. Spay and neuter your pets!

No, I wouldn't. Each animal is an individual, and no clone can replace it. Besides, I think you dishonor the memory of the pet that is gone by trying to clone it. Better to help a live homeless animal by adopting from a shelter than to spend thousands of dollars to recreate a pet that has already lived.
