Dogs have that "Pack mentality" when it comes to social behaviors.I think that when your dog brings his toys and plays at your feet,he's doing a number of things.
He's showing submission-that he recognizes you as the "Alpha leader" in your pack, therefore giving you respect and showing you affection at the same time. He's also showing that he feels safe and comfortable in your presence, and that he enjoys spending that time around you.
I think that all these behaviors are quite normal, and show that you have a good relationship with each other.

my dog does the same thing, and i don't think you should worry about it, as long as your dog isn't biting you it's fine, and maybe next time you can try playing with him, he might just want to play and he's bringing you the toy, but i wouldn't discourage it he's not doing anything wrong!

Good question. You should write in to the Dog Whisperer on his web site. My guess is he's bringing you something or he feels safe and comfortable near you with something that is his.
