I also don't think dogs are smarter than cats or cats are smarter than dogs. I think they, as well as all animals, are here on earth to show us that animals are smarter than humans.

I am not convinced they are.... Humans that follow blindly and obey without thinking aren't considered the smartest of our species, now are they??

Dogs are more obidient not smarter. Cats like to do stuff there own way. The cats curiousness may seem dumb but its like discovering something that has never ever been found before. plus cats are better hiders. And cats and dogs I'd say on a scale of one to ten There both a 7.

I have two cats and the way they have me trained tells me they are the smarter one of the two.

Do we know that for sure? Are there studies on this?

Dogs were domesticated longer ago that cats and they are therefore a lot more dependent upon humans. Therefore they are more trainable and we can teach them a lot more than we could teach cats. It doesn't necessarily mean they are smarter but definitely in learning tricks they can do a lot more.

Dogs are very smart but I still think that cats are smart enough to let you think that they aren't as dmart as they really are. My cat outsmarts me all the time.

I can't answer a question that isn't true. They are both smart.

I don't think either one is smarter. They are just different. I have seen cats that I think are smarter than dogs, and vice versa. Not up to us to decide their intelligence.
