This is not meant to upset any cat lovers.

Cats are smarter. They've trained us to go out, get a job to support them, give us affection when they are good and ready.....oh wait, that applies to kids as well.

They're not, they just think they are

Considering what cats and dogs can do in ways that are natural to them, the seem pretty equal to me. Cats are more solitary animals, so their social life is not that advanced. But they succeed in pushing humans around more than dogs.

As much as I would like to say that dogs are smarter, I don't think that there is any proof of that. The reason it is easier to train dogs is that they are easily motivated, so treats, toys and praise work well. Cats on the other hand aren't easily motivated and they don't respond very well to aversive methods.

Dogs are more eager to please. I don't have much experience being a cat owner. I definately don't believe that cats are dumb

I am not so sure they are either...I have both dogs and cats and it seems the dogs are more eager to please, but the cats have ME trained for when they want something from me.
