Whats the best way to potty train puppies

Take the puppy out often - really often. When he/she goes outside - praise him/her like there is no tomorrow! You'll have accidents here and there, but after a few weeks, they'll be fewer and fewer. Good luck.

Crate train. Then stick to a schedule. As a young puppy and a puppy that's just learning they need a lot of patience from you and to be let out every few hours. Expect accidents and again be patient. There are some good books and videos that go into detail about this and give you a lot of problem solving material as you're going through it. Good Luck!

I take my foster puppy out about 15-20 mins after he eats and then almost every hour or so. They have smaller bladders and need to go out more often than adult dogs. When you take them outside make sure to have them go around the same area they go to the bathroom and also make sure to tell them something to associate when they go outside. For my adult dogs I tell them to go potty. Most importantly...reward, praise, reward, praise, when they do go outside. They associate going to the bathroom as a good thing and they will do it where they will get the praise or reward.

If you stay home with your puppy and have time to watch him at all time, take him out as soon as he wakes up from his nap, right after play time, right after feeding(including water). Some people say to wait 10-15 min to take your puppy out after feeding, but my puppy always had to go right after feeding!!

If you don't have time to be with your puppy to watch his sign to go potty, use crate. If your puppy is 2month old, he should be able to hold for 2 hours, 3 hours for 3month old pup. I know it's hard to keep your cute little puppy in a crate, but it won't take too long. If the peeing in the house become habbit, it will be hard to break so stick to your plan and train your puppy.

Set up a schedule and stick to it. I think the theory is 20 minutes for each week they are old is what they can hold it for. also just watch for signs..like sniffing the floor. take them out and use a sing word to associate with going to the bathroom. then praise them "good potty"

I just adopted an 8 wk old rat terrier puppy. My husband and I crate him for sleeping because we have two larger dogs. We take him outside regularly and stay out longer after feeding time. He's learned the routine and has only had a couple of messes in the crate. Personally our day starts early and ends very late. He doesn't whine because we play a lot and he needs his nap.

creat training works best. always take them out a few mins after they eat and keep them in a create that is big enough for them to move around in but not big enough for them to be able to sleep and have a bathroom away from the bed.

try potty training by using a crate. Dogs don't usually mess wear they sleep, therefore only leave enough room for your animal to sleep. Let you puppy out every hour to two hours.
Give your puppy praise every time they go potty outside. You must be consistent with you puppy. Just like children repetition is important to acheiveing success.

Dogs go to the bathroom after they play, eat and wake up. Making sure that you are at least taking them out after this, in addition to using a crate should work really well!
