My vet told me about this and it works! use 3/4 vinegar to 1/4 water in a spray bottle. Soak area and blot. Do this many many times. Let dry then do again. It rids the scent and will also stop the cat from regoing on it again. It also is great to freshen the room. It also is great to keep a small bowl of vinegar somewhere in a room if you have smokers in the house. It kills the smoke smell. Change it about once a week or if it becomes dark. The vinegar neutralizes the urnine smell as well. One can also use it in a carpet shampoo machine to rid the scent and also freshen all your carpet. I was ready to rip my carpet out of the house until I did this. It truly worked for me. Good luck. Would love to hear how it works for you.

Have you tried Simple Solutions? It is actually that formula that gave Nature's Miracle its reputation. When the company split apart, Simple Solutions got the formula, and Nature's Miracle had to come up with another.
I haven't found anything that will get the color back in the carpet. The cat urine tends to bleach out the carpet a bit.

I use a product called Urine Off which breaks down the enzymes in the cat's urine eliminating the smell (like some other products). I usually get it on line, so I am not sure if you can get it at PetSmart or Petco type places. Ironically, the best part of this product is the little black light they send with it. It helps me find the exact spot where the cat peed if I wasn't aware that it happened until I started smelling it a day or so later.
