my neighbor moved out and left her two cats behind outside, I took one in but can't catch the other one, I make sure the one outside is feed everyday. My question is what rights does her have to these cats if she decides to come back for them its been three months now

I had a situation with my pom...I puppy sat for her owners...and they didn't come back to get her...then after a year...they contacted me to retrieve her...and I talked to an attorney who said that possessionis 9/10th of the law....and they did not provide one way or the other for her care the entire time she was with me....same with the cats...she has left them...with no means to continue with their well being...therefore she has no legal rights...but definitely find out where you can report her as abandoning them...

I agree with Jessica(again). Call animal control and get a paper trail started if you fear future legal problems. Try to get both cats corraled and keep them in the better place you have for them. I'd be very surprised if you ever hear from the former "owner" again.

Call your local animal control and report her as abandoning the animals. In my opinion she has absolutely NO right to abandon them, and in some states you may be able to take legal action against her since that is a form of animal neglect.
