I read your other answers and they seem quite good. I have had pet hamsters for my classroom for years. I would like to add that some hamsters do indeed need grooming. If you have a common or dwarf they are pretty good about being self cleaners. They do like to roll in dust or litter once in a while. But if you have a long hair hamster like teddy bears they will need to be brushed and even have their hair trimmed from time to time.
Another think to watch is their teeth. Especially the bottom teeth. They never stop growing. Most hamsters will chew enough to keep their teeth worked down. Some are lazy and need to have their teeth snipped off to keep them short. It is a health issue in old hamsters. My vet clips them for nothing and we do this about every 6 months after the hamsters are 2 years old or older.

Clean food & water every day, I cleaned the cage everyday also, try & have 2 together both females if possible, males are territorial and a male & female will just give you litle ones and what will you do with them?? Also males are not god dads, they sometimes kill the young, make sure you have them enclosed if you have them out, even if just holding them they are fast and can get into little spots that they can't get out of and you won't be able too either, but they do need petting & talking to, just contact, don't put them in a cage & forget them, they are work like any other pet and are not for young children. Good luck

Hamsters are self-cleaning and will take care of their own fur. Just keep the food and water available and fresh and clean their cages regularly. These are great little pets!

Hamsters dont need any grooming at all. They will groom them selves . The only time you will ever have to wash your hamster is if they get really dirty like falling in their food but that is about it.
