You may also want to change his food to something that has oils in it that are good for his skin. I had an itchy dog in the past and I fed her Avoderm, which really helped. Good luck.

My mom's dog had the same issues and everything dried out his skin terribly. Her vet actually recommended using Aveeno sensitive skin body wash! It moisturizes very well and doesn't over dry the coat. That's the only thing she will use on her dog now and his coat and skin look so much better. She had tried all of the sensitive dog shampoos too, and Aveeno was the only thing to help his skin. Give it a try if you haven't found something that works, hopefully it'll work. And it's safe for dogs, thought I should throw that in. =)

I would suggest an oatmeal based flea shampoo and I would also get to my vet for some Frontline or Advantage. Stop the fleas before they become a huge problem. Make sure you rinse your pup really well because I have found that to be a problem with the flakey skin on my dogs in the past.

I use PearLyt pet shampoo. It works for Max and his coat is very shiny ans silky after using it. Check out the reviews.
